I ordered this tea with some trepidation, but I've been having some trouble sleeping, and I didn't want to take any prescription drugs or OTC diphenhydramine. The reason I felt trepidation is that I have taken valerian for sleeplessness in the past, in a capsule form, and it smells like old gym socks. Works like a charm, but it's not easy to swallow a pill that smells like old gym socks.

So you can imagine my reluctance to drink a cup of tea that smells like old gym socks. But I went ahead and gave it a try anyway, because I love an adventure and a cup of tea at night before bed. I am pleased to report that I brewed this tea, gave it a big hearty sniff, and did not smell old gym socks. I sweetened it a bit, and it went down just fine. No bitterness, no unpleasant aftertaste. Just a nice, fragrant herbal tea.

That helped me get to sleep and kept me sleeping all night long.

The ingredients on the package are: (all organic) valerian root (450 mg), passionflower herb (300 mg), lemon balm leaf (300 mg), peppermint leaf (300 mg) and 150 mg of a proprietary blend of caraway fruit and licorice root. By the way, I hate caraway and licorice, but I really enjoy this tea. In fact, I'm enjoying a cup even as I write this review, so I'd better hurry up and finish.
