I was replacing another hard plastic but expensive ice tea maker, also with the insert to hold the tea. That plastic cracked on the lid so I was looking for glass. (With reservations, since my counters are very hard stone and have a reputation of pulverizing my glass items)So I ordered this, and have used it daily for almost two months. Its wonderful, easy to clean, easy to pour....in fact very nice design, fits well in the frig, large handle which is comfortable. I can't find anything to not love about this Tea Jug. Also, the infuser is great if use loose tea as I do. Its a great design and cleans up easily as well. Go for it, beats Bodum's plastic one.
