When I'm in Japan, i always eat a variety of pastries and ice cream matcha. There's no comparison to ones made in US because they cater to American palate --- slightly bland green tea.

This dark green chocolate is almost perfect. its a nice fix if you cant order green tea latte or green tea frap at starbucks or mitsuwa ;-> (of course, extra dark).
The dark green tea is aptly bitter, BUT grainy. I would like to smooth dark like my latte.

Ive only tried Meiji but its too sweet for my taste though you can truly taste the green tea notes.

I still will recommend this chocolate to those deep dark cravings for a blast of matcha, but its really expensive for a small bar of chocolate--same size as a small bar of hersheys.
